I have work with dogs for over 10 years and this is all wrong! The comments and some of the video… Crates are great but a dog should NEVER be in one for more then 5 to 6 hours at the most… I could go on but you people should call a trainer or talk to your vet.
jordanrivers1, i …
jordanrivers1, i have to say you are wrong. i feed my GSD 2 times a day in her crate. when she gets ready to eat she sits by the dog food, then i go dump the food then call her to come eat. then about 30min later i will take her out to do her business. ive had her for a year and she will not go in a crate unless its the last resort
that’s the whole …
that’s the whole point of crate training… so they won’t use the bathroom.
thats not true at …
thats not true at all, puppies by nature and instinct would not do their business inside their den or what we call crate,,unless we leave em inside the crate for long hours which is not good,
but if you feed …
but if you feed them in the crate they will in crate ,,,not good..:(
not odd at all. my …
not odd at all. my 7 1/2 week boxer is sound asleep in hers right now. when i showed her her crate the first time, she didnt even hesitate to go in, immidiatly just went in and lied down and fell asleep. Dogs naturally love enclosed places to sleep. For example my pup will go sleep in between 2 stacks of pillows and poke her nose out just enough to breath. So im guessing the crate acts as the 2stacks as pillows for her.
My puppy wasnt …
My puppy wasnt crate trained at his breeders house, but he loves to sleep in his crate without me having to train him to like it, is this odd? or is my dog just catching on quickly?
